  1. Look at that precious mug!! Look at that cutie- pa- tootie!! Cantw stop grinning…even if he looks just a wee bit druggie!! 🙂

The hospital meds will probably be out of his surstem by tomorrow (think he came home Sunday, right?). He may, or may not, have a bit of a crash as you try and get his pain meds balanced.

Stay connected. Recovery is no picnic. Oh, and let us know when Olly poops! We celebrate anything around here! 🙂

So glad he’s already walking a “wee bit”! ‘Huge victory!

Lots of hugs! You’re doing great!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

    1. He pooped!!! I was so relieved! I was happy to see him figure it out with no problem at all…and the poop was gorgeous! We even took a pic of it! I see the “crash” thing…he’s sleeping a lot. We made a nice comfy bed for him in our “Sof-Krate” (travel crate). He loves it in there…it’s dark and I think he feels safe and secure in there. Continued thanks for thinking of us and walking us through this. I look forward to posting about Olly running and playing. He LOVES playing in those big plastic IKEA bags. Much like the old refrigerator boxes we played in as kids. Can’t wait to see him dive into one again. 🙂

  2. What a cutie! Glad he is home. Rest is the best thing right now. He has a lot of hospital meds in his system, so don’t let him over do. Short leashed potty breaks, and lots of rest. You may see a bit of a crash on day 4 or 5 as the hospital meds work out of his system – just keep an eye on his pain signals, and call the vet is his pain doesn’t seem well managed. You will be amazed at how well he will probably do when the staples are removed (between day 10 and 14 usually), so hang in there!

    1. He’s resting a lot. I think the meds are upsetting his tummy. We’re having a hard time getting him to eat. But he is pepping up a bit every day. We took him to the doctor on Tuesday because the area around the amputation on his belly was hard and painful to the touch. The doctors said it was ok, just the muscles reacting to the amputation. Thank you guys! This site is saving daddy’s nervous butt! 🙂
